Donate to An Animated Series Depicting Superheroines of Color!!!

My name is L. Llewellyn James and I am a Professional Illustrator (both traditional and computer-based), Film-Maker and Graphic Designer.

I have extensive experience in every facet of media production and design, with a readily trackable success ratio in past endeavors on behalf of organizations such as The African-American Historical Association of Fairfield County, Connecticut, Congregations Organized For A New Connecticut , The Caribbean World Chamber of Commerce as well as The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, just to name a few(Click here for a wide selection of various documentaries and advertisements I’ve made for a host of clients:

However, I am also a black man who has officially grown fatigued with the overtly salacious, denigrating and intellectually vapid depiction of people of color that I consistently see in Global Mass Media (especially the Americanvariation, thereof).

In short, I have been working on a project to parley my over 25 years of experience in film-making, story-telling, graphic design and real-world marketing designed to stifle the tide of noxious and unimaginative realizations of people of color in mass media.  My own work encompassing computer animation and cinematic story-telling is a concept that I call “Pilots of The Caribbean”.

The idea revolves around superheroines of color–each with positive attributes, fully-realized story-lines and intriguing subtexts of historical importance infused into every character’s fight for justice, humanity and respect— who each hail from one Island in the Caribbean.

The first four characters of “Pilots” are depicted in the photo at the top of this page: they are (from top, Left to right) General Jamaica –

At any rate, these powerful women will be presented with dignity, class, distinction…and above all, more action and intelligent adventure than you can shake a stick at.

However, I only require a more in-depth computer that will allow me to actually execute the animation for the film series that I am planning, that will do people of color and the innovative stories I plan on telling about themjustice.

AS WE CONTINUE TO AMASS SUPPORT, I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO SAY HERE THAT I WILL BE GIVING AWAY TO ALL DONORS TO THIS CAMPAIGN AN EXCLUSIVE DVD WITH ALL THE FAMILY-FRIENDLY ANIMATED PROGRAMS I WILL BE CREATING WITH THIS CHARACTERS, ALONG WITH ADDENDUM FOOTAGE AND EPISODES THAT WON’T BE AVAILABLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC.  PLEASE DONATE WITH THAT IN MIND, AND STAY TUNED TO MY OFFICIAL FB FANPAGE ATwww.facebook.com/alphaholicsnonanonymous ]

My goal is to give you constructive criticism, not to hinder you, not that I could. Your female images are offensive, because they’re white women which the figures/bodies have been enhanced with large breast and thighs…etc. Your colors are off and your figures are disfigured. Your message is great but you should devote more time to improve your artistic skills so people will enjoy and like your characters. In other words your art in unattractive, and ugly. I’m sorry to be so blunt, but there’s isn’t another way of putting it. Your films are unprofessional, blurred, can’t hear the voices and there’s echoing. I really do wish you well in all of your endeavors. I know one has had the courage to tell you need a ton of work on your skills before you can consider yourself to be professional. I’m sorry….invest in you. Peace my brother, don’t ever give up!!!!!
